Psalm 44 Our fathers have told us

No other time of the year produces more family stories than the holidays.

Psalm 44 is a difficult Psalm to read. The people plead throughout the Psalm for God to deliver them. Interesting that the Psalm begins "O God, we have heard with our ears, our fathers have told us,...". When difficult times come we rely on what we have been told to be true. I'm sure my family is no exception to what happens when families gather. Stories are told. I have a recording of my grandfather telling us about the stories of our family's immigration to Michigan from New York. This holiday season I encourage you to ask, then listen to the stories that follow. I guarantee in years to come your children will not remember the turkey but they will remember the stories.

Blessings on you day,

Nelle
