To Ascribe - looking up a word-

Psalm 29 begins with the word ascribe.

Have you ever been reading something and skipped over a word you did not know? Have you ever been involved in a conversation when someone used a word that did not apply to the subject? It is easy to skip over a word and continue reading but sometimes that word is a key to understanding the major portion of the text. An example is the Psalm today. To ascribe means to attribute to a specified cause, source or origin. The Psalm does not use the word describe but uses the word ascribe. Now read the Psalm and increase your vocabulary.

If you are thinking "Give me strength!"

You will see the Psalm ends with verse 11. "May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless his people with peace."

Blessings on your day,
