Psalm 3 thoughts shared

Psalm 3 vs. 3-4 But you oh Lord are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.

I cried aloud to the Lord and he answered me from his holy hill.

(In this Psalm David is recognizing the number of his foes. Even his son is leading a revolt

                    against him.)

As I read these two verses I think of a child feeling alone with their head down. Then a parent comes along and places a finger under their chin lifting their face up.  When the child sees the love from their parent’s eyes they begin to smile. Hope is restored. The child feels valued and affirmed. Is that perhaps how our Father desires us to respond when He lifts our head and we see His love for us.

I encourage you to keep a journal and note the ways God answers your cries and lifts your head.
